The 2008 Family Cafe 10th Anniversary Conference Featuring the Summit on Disabilities Was Awesome...
I was
close to not going to The Family Cafe this year due to our situation with Bobby's surgery. But my friend Lori
Fahey as every year and Families came together and gave me the boost and encouragement to move forward.
The Family Cafe is not just about going to a Conference.
It's about going to share our ups and downs with other families. We as Families go through hell trying to get services.
The state has so many programs that wehave no Idea are out there. Care givers go not only through the emotional,
physical, mental, spiritual hits but also the aggrivation of trying to figure out which way to turn or what service will provide
for the loved one we carefor. The florida health system doesnt meet all the needs of the disabilities population and they
cant if they dont know what we need. But as we sit and talk about the issues our pain and voice begin to be heard giving
the state solution or ideas as to how we can fix and meet our needs.
I Pray the pictures shown will speak
more than a thousand words.
About 10,000 people attend The Family Cafe. Please consider Sponsoring Conferences that
help families like our. Please help us gain pricless plate of education and knowledge that help us give back to
the state, giving us an opportunity to be part of the solution and not a the problem.
